Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been won on hard courts

A comeback the Russian player claimed his maiden title for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a difficult year, winning just one match at the big events and suffering a meltdown at the American major.

His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serving in particular - led to him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately parting ways with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, he has steadily progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Corentin Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard surface from March of 2023.

The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I have attended a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a title is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.

"This title is in tribute of my child Victoria, because the maiden victory I got when my child Alisa was delivered was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his last six finals, comprising in that event earlier this year.

The player's counter-punching play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had led some to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.

Yet the athlete has made changes in the past month, making an effort to come to the net and play aggressively, supported by an enhanced serving game.

He fought back from a disadvantage in the first set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the final five games to go ahead.

The pair traded break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his initial professional victory, seized the initiative to force a third set.

He saved four early chances in a close third set before the champion won the break to 15 to close out the victory.

Appropriately, Medvedev secured the win with a shot at the front of the court, with his opponent unable to manage a shot after over two and a half hours.
